Thursday, May 15, 2008 10:00AM – 3:00PM SC Division of Aeronautics - Columbia, SC
The South Carolina Aviation Safety Council was formed in 1996 as a cooperative effort between industry and the FAA designed to complement the FAA’s own safety program. We are a dedicated group of volunteers that meets regularly to address aviation safety concerns in South Carolina and determine what can be done to promote a “Safety as a Habit” philosophy. The current focus of the Council includes a major effort to reduce general aviation accidents and incidents resulting from poor pilot judgment, a common denominator in many accident statistics. Planning and execution of an annual Wings Weekend is the primary venue utilized to help achieve this goal.
